This Semester's Theme:
~ Since 1999 ~
There are many schools located around Sophia University.Taking a five minute walk from Ichigaya Campus, you will find the Bancho Elementary School, a Japanese public school.
Through the Bancho Elementary School Teaching Project, Sophia students andBancho pupils find opportunities to interact with one another. The sessions with elementary school pupils strengthen communal ties, and provide Sophia students resourceful opportunities to reflect on the Japanese educational system.

The real encounter with people gives us unexpected findings and insights. We discover what the children are like and how students with overseas experiences see Japanese schools compared to others. For the elementary school pupils,
BEST provides an opportunity to interact with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and thereby avoid developing ungrounded timidity when communicating with foreigners, and also develop a sense for an international community.
