| The Core of SOPHIA alpha: TJR Project |

| What is the TJR Project | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The TJR Project is the very foundation of Sophia Alpha upon which we aim to base all of our activities. It provides us with a forum for intellectual thinking and allows us to exchange ideas among friends, thereby helping us to become conscious of the world we live in. We realise that we are not only responsible for the world around us but that we can activiely change it for the better - starting with the immidiate environment we live in. Through the TJR Project, we aim to clarify our vision which is essential for meaningful action. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| How did it start? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The project was initiated by a group of Philosophical Anthropology students who wanted to continue with what they had learned in class and required a forum to do so. It is named in memory of Professor Adams, a former teacher of philosphy and famous member of the Faculty of Comparative Culture who was to guide us in our discussions but sadly passed away. However, TJR project inherites Professor Adams' spirit to continue our study in the realm of political philosophy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| What we do | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Concretely, we look at a myriad of issues concerning our university community and Japanese society in general and engage in discussions about them. Subjects in the past included the Japanese Educational system, Japanese Food Culture and the like. The discussions help us gain a better understanding of these issues at hand and to find solutions or prescibe changes for their improvement. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
